She was born Aline Victoria Charigot in Essoyes, Burgundy, France, 23 May 186, to a family of winegrowing farmers.
She moved to Paris with her mother and worked as a seamstress, met the artist Pierre Auguste Renoir, c 1880. Charigot was a waitress in the creamery across the street from where Renoir lived. She hadn't known him very long when she posed for Luncheon of the Boating Party, but he had fallen for her and they became an item.
Started modeling for Renoir and gave birth to his son Pierre 1885. Aline was Renoir’s favorite model. She married Renoir in Paris 14 April 1890. She was modeled for many drawings, paintings and sculpture by Renoir 1880– 1915. She was contracted with diabetes in 1920 and died of heart attack on 27 June 1915.
